Synopsis of Workshop on Patent and IPR
Father Muller Research Centre held a patent and intellectual
property rights workshop on April 15, 2023, at AV Hall from 9.00 a.m. to 12.30
p.m. Rev. Fr. Ajith Menezes, Administrator of Father Muller Medical College,
presided over the function and addressed the workshop. Dr. B. Sanjeev Rai,
chief of research, spoke on the need, importance and relevance of patents and
IPR. Dr.Animikh Ray, Scientist-C at Father Muller Research Centre, introduced
the resource person: Dr.IddyaKarunasagar, advisor to Nitte University on
research and patents. The workshop was attended by over 40 participants from
all constituent colleges of Father Muller's charitable institutions. Dr.Karunasagar
conducted a highly interactive workshop with active participation from the audience.
He guided participants to file a patent and overcome associated challenges.
Many innovative ideas and projects from the faculty of Father Muller Research
Centre were discussed that could be patented. Overall, the workshop was
successful in creating awareness about this important domain. This was evident
from the feedback of participants, who greatly benefited from the workshop. Mrs.
Anusha proposed the vote of thanks.
