GENERAL GUIDELINES:

• FMIEC meets on second Saturday of every month
• Additional meetings are held depending on the number of protocols to be reviewed.
• The research protocols (academic studies of staff, UG and PG) of FMMC should be first submitted to Scientific Committee of FMMC, and on approval from Scientific Committee, then protocols are considered for review in FMIEC.
• Clinical trials and Bioequivalence studies of FMMC , any research protocols of External institutions , and research protocols of Father Muller College of Nursing, Father Muller School of Nursing, Father Muller Homeopathic Medical College and Father Muller College of Speech and Hearing , are to be directly submitted to FMIEC for review
• The protocols for review should be submitted to FMIEC at least 10 days before the scheduled date of meeting of FMIEC. The office of FMIEC could be contacted for any updates on the submitted protocols
• The FMIEC will not grant the approval for already completed studies (No retrospective approval).
• For case Reports, ethics committee approval should be taken before presentation/publication.
• For all Original studies , ethics committee approval has to be taken before starting the work (Irrespective of whether they are meant for publication/poster presentation/oral presentation)

• There are separate application forms for : Academic Studies / Case Reports/ Clinical Trials/ Bioequivalence Studies
• Formats of Budget Proposal and informed consent documents are made available.
• FMIEC is authorized not only for approval of research proposals but, also for monitoring the progress and ethical conduct of research in FMCI.
