Duties and Responsibilities
- To Plan, guide, and provide leadership in all research activities of Father Muller Research Center
- To motivate, promote and strengthen research activities among the staff and students of all colleges o father Muller Charitable Institutions and enhance the institution's academic profile.
- To identify, develop and support opportunities for research developments nationally and internationally, either within existing funding streams or through multi-disciplinary collaborations with other organizers or by applying for the same by seeking grants.
- To encourage, faculty, and students in research work and identify income generation targets from research funding agencies so that the institutions can capitalize on the same.
- To advise and support staff and students in their research work and maintain personal research profiles regarding medical education.
- To develop research strategies and associated financial and operational plans to a partnership with college heads and HODs, allocate institutional resources accordingly with clear objectives, targets, and associated measurements.
- To oversee the operation of the research cell/department, assign work to the Staff of the research cell, and ensure full staff engagement, including awareness and application of internal and external policies and procedures for research activities.
- To supervise UG / PG doctoral and faculty research activities and ensure that they comply with institutional research quality, ethics, conduct and requirements, and relevant regulatory authorities.
- To develop and implement a strategic plan to develop and fund research activities, upgrade and acquire research-related infrastructure and equipment, and report to the management.
- To proactively pursue and cultivate regional, national and international research development among Staff and students and assist in contacting government, public and private organizations to sponsor the research activities.
- To foster collaborations for mutual benefits with local, state, national, and International Universities, Research centers, Institutions, and Industries.
- To forge, collaborate and maintain a relationship with other public and private sectors in obtaining aids, grants, funds, and sponsorship for research
- To Plan, budget, and ensure that sufficient funds exist for research work and be responsible for utilizing and managing all external research funding, including government and private funding.
- To chair the meeting as and when required to ensure that adequate consultation takes place with students and Staff in case of research topics, ethical clearance, methodology to be followed, and guide to approaching appropriate authorities in case of clearance or grants are required
- To organize and conduct training programs from time to time regarding research activities –topics, grant writing, authorities to contact, etc. for approval of research grants in coordination with HOD's or other people concerned if needed
