A general health camp was organized on 3rd November 2024 at Holy Family Sabha Bhavan, Meramajal, Omzoor via Farangipet, by Father Muller Medical College Hospital.  General Medicine, General Surgery, OBG, Radiation Oncology, Surgical Oncology along with ECG, Laboratory, and Pharmacy services were made available to 148 beneficiaries. Five students of year PBBSc Nursing participated in the activities of the camp by dispensing free medicines to the beneficiaries and assisting in ECG and pap smear. Health Card facility was also made available. Dr Sonia Karen Liz Sequera, Professor from the Department of Community Health Nursing, Father Muller College of Nursing was the coordinator for the camp.

A one-day General health camp was held on 31 October 2024 at Infant Jesus Shrine hall, Bikarnakatte, Mangaluru organized by Father Muller Medical College Hospital in collaboration with St. Teresa of Avila Community (OCDS), Bikarnakatte, Mangaluru. General Medicine, General surgery, Ophthalmology, OBG, Radiation oncology and surgical oncology OPD along with Laboratory and Pharmacy services were made available to 150 beneficiaries. Sr Daisy student of Ist year MSc, Ms Vithenu, Ms Preethi C, Ms Akshatha student of IInd year PBBSc Nursing and Mr Dallen IV BSc nursing students participated in the activities of the camp dispensing free medicines to the beneficiaries, assisting in ECG. Ms Priya S Pereira and Ms Raina Jenifer Mascarenhas, faculty from Father Muller College of Nursing was the coordinator for the camp.

On 1st November 2024, a successful one-day General Health Check-up camp was conducted at St. Mary's College, Bela,  Kasargod. This initiative, organized by Father Muller Medical College Hospital in collaboration with St. Mary's College, Bela,  Kasargod, aimed to promote health awareness and provide essential medical services to the college Students and staffs. The health camp offered a variety of medical services to the beneficiaries, including General Health Check-ups conducted by the Department of General Medicine, Department of ENT along with Speech and Hearing also Electrocardiogram (ECG) Testing, Glucose Random Blood Sugar (GRBS) Checking and  Dispensing of Free Medicines to beneficiaries. These services were aimed at facilitating early detection of health issues and promoting overall well-being among the college students and staffs. The camp was coordinated by Ms. Caroline Smitha, Assistant Lecturer from the Department of Community Health Nursing at Father Muller College of Nursing (FMCON). She played a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the camp. Additionally, four first-year GNM Nursing students from Father Muller School of Nursing (FMSON) and one 2nd PBBSc nursing student of Father Muller College of Nursing actively participated in the camp. They assisted with the registration process and helped dispense free medicines to beneficiaries, gaining valuable practical experience in community health service. The health camp attracted a total of 225 beneficiaries, who benefited from the various services provided.

On Oct 23, 2024, Medical and Surgical Nursing department  of Father Muller College of Nursing has conducted half day workshop on 'OBESITY AWARENESS" at RAJATH BHAVANbetween 8.30am-12.30pm Towards world obesity day. The workshop was delivered by faculty of Father Muller College of Physiotherapy .Ms Leah Mohadas ,MsGattyAiswaryaPrabhakar  began the  session discussing on the issues of obesity and ways to overcome it. Following the session students had 5 different stationsmeasuring hip waist ration, oxygen consumption capacity ,BMI ,bioelectrical impedance analysis and skinfold thickness calibre, Mr Jaya P, Ms Sheethal Vivek Pai, Ms Christy Tomy, Ms Nikitha, Mr Nishanth were handling the stations by 12.30pm, students participated had participated actively and worked on their strength's to identify their endurance ,the programme winded with the college anthem and vote of thanks.

On February 27, 2024, a successful one-day cancer screening and awareness camp took place at St. Teresa Church Hall in Paldane. This initiative, organized by Father Muller Medical College Hospital in partnership with St. Raphaela Mary Convent and Kolkata St. Teresa Church Paldane, was led by the Jewels Group. The camp offered a range of medical services, including a Pap Smear Test conducted by the Department of OBG,Breast ExaminationPerformed by the Department of General Surgery, Oral ExaminationOffered by the Department of Oncology, ECG Testing, GRBSChecking and dispensing of free medicines. Dr. Venita Fernandes, a Gynaecologist, and Dr. Rohan C Gatty, a Surgical Oncologist from Father Muller Medical College Hospital, provided public awareness sessions on cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment. The camp was effectively coordinated by Ms. Deepika N C, Assistant Professor from the Department of Community Health Nursing at Father Muller College of Nursing (FMCON). Four second-year Post Basic BSc (PBBSc) Nursing students from Father Muller College of Nursing actively participated in the camp. They supported the event by assisting with registration, BP Monitoring, assisting in Pap smear tests and dispensing free medicines. The camp attracted 115 beneficiaries. The event was instrumental in promoting health awareness and offering essential screenings to the local community.

The Research Innovation and Extension Committee (Criteria III), Father Muller College of Nursing jointly with Research Centre, Father Muller Charitable Institutions organized a two-day workshop on "Revolutionize your Academic Research; A Workshop on AI Tools" on 18th & 19th October 2024 from 9.00am to 4.30pm at Syndicate hall, FMCON. The eminent resource persons were Mr Royal Praveen D Souza and Dr Reji P John, faculty of St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangalore. Dr Ramesh Bhat, Chief of Research Centre, delivered a key note address on the theme. A total of 32 faculty from FMCON and FMRC along with First year MSc Nursing students were trained with hands on sessions using 23 AI applications from the website. The workshop effectively equipped the participants with practical knowledge on the skills of using AI tools for advancements in research work productivity.

The Curricular committee of Father Muller College of Nursing under the guidance of Committee Chairperson Mrs Leena Margaret Castelino organized a Seminar on "Building integrity: Fusion of Professional Ethics and Human Values" on 9th October 2024, in Rajath Bhavan. The program commenced at 9am with a prayer song. Dr Agnes EJ, Vice Principal, welcomed the gathering and introduced the resourcepersons, Dr Reshma G Kini, Professor Department of Pathology, Father Muller Medical College and Prof. Cynthia Santhmayor, Professor and Principal, Father Muller College of Speech and Hearing, FMCI were the resource persons for the seminar. After the sessions, the resource persons were presented with token of appreciation by Dr Agnes E J, Vice Principal FMCON and Committee Chairperson Mrs Leena Margaret Castelino, FMCON. About 100 1st BSc students were the beneficiaries. Beneficiaries gave positive feedback towards the session. A Role Play competition on the theme "Nursing with heart and ethics" was held from 1.45 pm onwards. The judges were Dr Josmitha Lecturer Department of Child Health Nursing, FMCON and Ms Renita Lasrado ANS/ CNE co-ordinator Father Muller Medical College Hospital. The prizes were bagged by 1st Year BSc Nursing and 1stPBBSc (N) students. The master of ceremony for the event was Ms Charitha Lewis, Lecturer, Medical Surgical Nursing FMCON. Vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs Nitha Meena Coelho. The session was concluded with the college anthem.

On 06 February 2024, a successful one-day General Health Check-up camp was conducted at St. Joseph Vaz Church Hall in Mudipu. This initiative, organized by Father Muller Medical College Hospital, in collaboration with St. Joseph Vaz Church and the Catholic Sabha Mangalore Mudipu Unit, aimed to promote health awareness and provide essential medical services to the local community as part of their Silver Jubilee Celebration. The health camp offered a variety of medical services to the public, including General Health Check-ups conducted by the Department of General Medicine Electrocardiogram (ECG) Testing, Glucose Random Blood Sugar (GRBS) Checking and Dispensing of Free Medicines to beneficiaries These services were aimed at facilitating early detection of health issues and promoting overall well-being among the community members. The camp was coordinated by Ms. Deepika N C, Assistant Professor from the Department of Community Health Nursing at Father Muller College of Nursing (FMCON). She played a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the camp. Additionally, two third-year GNM Nursing students from Father Muller School of Nursing (FMSON) actively participated in the camp. They assisted with the registration process and helped dispense free medicines to beneficiaries, gaining valuable practical experience in community health service. The health camp attracted a total of 160 beneficiaries, who benefited from the various services provided.

Father Muller Medical College Hospital, in collaboration with the Department of Community Health Nursing, Father Muller College of Nursing, hosted the Nutrition and Wellness Expo 2024 on September 26, 2024. Held under the theme "Feeding Smart Right From Start," the event took place at the Hospital Conference Hall and was presided over by Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director of FMCI.

Distinguished guests, including Rev. Fr George Jeevan Sequeira Administrator FMMCH, Dr Anthony Sylvian D'Souza Dean FMMC, Dr Hilda Fernandes Principal FMCOAHS, and Sr Dhanya Devasya Principal FMCON/FMSON, attended the program, which commenced with a prayerful song. Mrs Sandis Joseph, Senior Dietician, delivered an insightful speech, explaining the significance of the day. Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho followed with the presidential address, emphasizing the importance of nutrition in healthcare.

The expo featured six innovative stalls, each focused on promoting specialized nutrition for various health conditions. Among the key highlights were the Renal Diet - Kidney Blooming, Healthy Beverages - Sip smart, Wellness Oasis, Diet for Chemotherapy and Radiation - Fuel for Fight, and Diet for Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver - Protect Your Liver, It's Your Detox Hero and Move Stretch Reach; Measure Your Body Ability. These stalls provided valuable insights into smart dietary choices for a range of health challenges.

In the afternoon, Dr Agnes Moira D'Souza conducted an informative session on nutrition and wellness, specifically aimed at hospital patient bystanders and the non-teaching faculty of FMMCH. This session, along with the broader expo, aimed to raise awareness and encourage healthier eating habits from an early stage.

The event concluded on a positive note, benefitting 220 participants, and leaving a lasting impact on promoting smart nutritional practices. Dr Sonia Karen Liz Sequera served as the program's Master of Ceremonies.

Criteria III Committee, Father Muller College of Nursing in collaboration with the Central Library of Father Muller Charitable Institutions organized atraining program on Library E-Resourcesat D M Hall, Knowledge Centreon 30.09.2024from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm.Dr. Janet Dotty Lobo, the Chief Librarian was the resource person who gave a detailed orientation on use of e-resources, e- content and remote access facilities with a live demonstration on accessing the online resources. The session was ended by distribution of library cards and biometric registration for the students.Altogether 185students from I GNM, I BSc Nursing, I PBBSc Nursing and I MSc Nursing and eight teaching faculty attended the program.

On 27th September 2024 the Teaching Learning Evaluation committee of Father Muller College of Nursing has conducted a workshop at Syndicate Hall Father Muller college of Nursing on the topic "Transforming Nursing Education: Leveraging Technology for Enhanced Learning"which focussed on hands on session about the different innovative multimedia's which can be used in class room. Session began by 9 am totalof39 Teaching Faculty of FMCON, Mangalore were the participants. The facilitators/ Resource Persons were Dr Grrishma B, Professor, Dr Padmini Thalanjeri, Professor both were from the Department of Physiology, AJ Institute of Medical Science and research Centre, Mangalore. the session winded by 12.30 pm.

Department of Mental Health Nursing along with the students of III BSc Nursing and I MSc Nursing, Father Muller College of Nursing observed the World Alzheimer's Day 2024 at Olavinahalli Rehabilitation Centre, Kinya, Mangaluru on 11.09.2024 at 10am. Rev Sr. Aileen Mathias, Superior of the Rehabilitation Centre welcomed the gathering and given a brief orientation of the centre. The programme was initiated by a prayer song followed by a role play by III BSc Nursing students based on the theme.  The students were performed various entertaining activities like group dance, group singing, conducting games and action songs for the elderly. The total beneficiaries were 97 inmates actively participated in the program. It was a joyous occasion that the team could bring some rays of happiness among the elderly.

The students of III BSc Nursing along with faculty of Child Health Nursing department of Father Muller College of Nursing organized an awareness program on 17thSeptember, 2024 at St Sebastian's English Medium High School, Permannur on the topic, "Prevention of Malaria and Dengue". The program included a talk, roleplay, games and activity involving the students of the school. The key highlights of the talk included description related to malaria and dengue spread, signs and symptoms and its prevention and management. The execution of the program was guided by Dr Josmitha Dsouza and Mrs Sandra Saldanha. Prof Wilma Noronha, HOD of the department also accompanied for the program. A total of 106 students from Class 9 attended the program. The Principal of the school and the student representatives gave good oral feedback about the conduct of the program.

Department of Community Health Nursingalong with IV BSc (N) students organised a school health programme for the students of Dakshina Kannada Primary School, Krishnapura on 1st July 2024. The session began with the inaugural followed by a role play on the Prevention of unhealthy food. Education on Balanced diet and prevention of Junk food was also given.

After a short break, awareness of good and bad touch among kids was discussed. Later menstruation and menstrual hygiene were discussed.

All the students underwent physical examination focusing on height, weight and calculation of degree of malnutrition. Snellen'schart was used for eye testing and students who faced health issues were referred to the health centre through the school authorities.

The programme ended at1.15 pm. A total of 63 students and 7 school teachers participated in the programme.

Father Muller College of Nursing (FMCON), a premier institution in the region, welcomed its new batch of students with the inauguration of BSc(N) 38th batch, PB BSc(N) 37th batch, MSc(N) 33rd batch of Nursing of the year 2024. The ceremony took place on September 12, 2024, at the Decennial Memorial Hall of the Knowledge Centre.

The event was graced by Rev. Fr. Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions; Dr. Sr. Judy, Principal of Father Muller Nursing College, Thumbay, was the chief guest speaker. The ceremony was also attended by Rev. Fr. Ajith B. Menezes, Administrator of Father Muller Medical College, College of Physiotherapy, and College of Allied Health Sciences; Rev. Fr. George Jeevan Sequeira, Administrator of Father Muller Medical College Hospital; and Sr. Anjana Rose, First-year BSc nursing coordinator.

The inaugural ceremony began with a prayer song by the first-year nursing students and a welcome speech by Sr. Dhanya Devasia, Principal of Father Muller College of Nursing. The ceremony then moved to the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.

Dr. Sr. Judy delivered an inspiring address to the new batch of students, emphasizing the importance of serving others and being good role models. She emphasized the need to set goals and boundaries and to lead a life that inspires others. She also shared the acronym SMART  NURSE(Smile, Mindfulness, Accountability, Reliability, Thoughtfulness - Nurturing, Understanding, Respect, Skills, Education) which is a need in today's smart society.

Rev. Fr. Richard Aloysius Coelho delivered the presidential address, welcoming all newcomers to the prestigious institution. He emphasized the importance of being grateful for being chosen to serve in the healthcare profession and to overcome obstacles and personal hurdles with empathy.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Sr. Anjana Rose.

A short parent-teacher-student orientation was after the tea break for the fresher's and their parents.

With this inauguration, the students were all set to embark on their journey to become skilled nurses who can make a difference in the lives of thousands.

The Father Muller College of Nursing (FMCON) took a momentous step towards fostering research and innovation with the inaugural ceremony of its Student Research Club, held on September 11, 2024, at 4 PM in the Rajath Bhavan of FMCON. The event, presided over by Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI), was graced by distinguished guests including Dr. Sanjeev Rai, Former Head of the Father Muller Research Centre (FMRC), and Guest of Honor Dr. Ramesh Bhat M, current Head of FMRC.
The ceremony commenced with a prayerful song led by the students of FMCON, setting a serene tone for the event. Ms. Muriel Hansil, a third-year BSc Nursing student, eloquently emceed the program, ensuring a smooth flow of proceedings. Ms. Oscheal Serrao, President of the Student Research Club (SRC), welcomed the audience and introduced the esteemed guests, expressing excitement for the club's potential to inspire and guide student-driven research.
The highlight of the event was the official inauguration of the Student Research Club, marked by the unveiling of its logo. This was a collaborative effort, joined by key figures such as Dr. Agnes EJ, Dr. Shiji PJ, Mrs. Sandra Saldanha, Dr. Aninesh Jain (External Research Cell Member), Mr. Chris Monteiro, Dr Shycil Mathew Chairperson of SRC and Dr. Shivshankar (Professor of Biochemistry). The newly revealed logo symbolized the club's vision of boundless knowledge and the pursuit of translational research that benefits the wider community.
Dr. Ramesh Bhat delivered a powerful keynote address, emphasizing that research knows no boundaries. He encouraged students to think critically and translate their findings into practical solutions, stating, "From project to product to community, research is a beacon for those who suffer." Dr. Bhat urged the students to share knowledge freely and use research as a tool to bring tangible improvements to healthcare.
The first edition of the Student Research Club's bulletin, Research Spring, was also released during the ceremony. This biannual bulletin, covering insights from January to June 2024, was edited by Dr. Premila D'Souza and offered a glimpse into the pioneering research conducted by students and faculty at FMCON. The bulletin's name was selected through a contest, with Mr. Royston D'Silva, a fourth-year BSc Nursing student, emerging as the winner.
Dr. Sanjeev Rai, in his chief guest address, commended the formation of the Student Research Club, remarking, "Research makes you a better student. Observations make a difference, not just instruments." He emphasized the vital role of nurses in research, as they are closely connected to patient care, making their observations and insights invaluable to medical advancements. He encouraged students to pursue research at their own pace, reminding them that even mistakes can lead to breakthroughs that benefit humanity.
The event also celebrated creative contributions, with Prof. Helen Claret D'Souza having designed the best logo for SRC and Ms. Palome Mariola from St. Agnes College recognized as the artist behind the club's logo, with Dr. Janet Dotty serving as the contest judge.
In his presidential address, Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho praised the students for their initiative, urging them to approach research with passion and dedication. "Membership in the club is just the beginning," he stated. "With hard work, innovation, and a commitment to excellence, you will see the fruits of your research benefit society."
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Prithesh Moras, Secretary of the SRC, expressing gratitude to all attendees and contributors. The establishment of the Student Research Club at FMCON marks a new chapter in the college's pursuit of academic and practical excellence, empowering nursing students to contribute meaningfully to the world of healthcare research.

The General Health camp was held on Sunday 1st September 2024 at St. Antony's Charity Institutes Jeppu, organized by Father Muller medical collage hospital, Kankanady Mangaluru. Departments such as General Medicine with ECG, and Ophthalmology along with Laboratory and Pharmacy services were made available. Mrs. Vidya Mohan, Assistant Lecturer from Father Muller College of Nursing along with two 4th year BSc Nursing students participated in the activities of the camp by dispensing free medicines for the beneficiaries. There were 212 beneficiaries for this camp and camp was coordinated by Mrs.Vidya Mohan faculty of father Muller College of nursing.

A one day Cancer Screening and Awareness camp was held on 25th August 2024 at Our Lady of Loretto Church Hall, Bantwal,  by Father Muller Medical College Hospital in collaboration with Jewels group, Indian Cancer Society and Indian Red Cross Blood Bank, D.K.  Dr Rohanchandra Gatty, Dr Dinesh Shet, faculty and staff from Father Muller Medical College Hospital delivered a health talk on Cancer and its prevention and treatment. 

Simultaneously Radiation Oncology, OBG and Surgery OPD along with Laboratory and Pharmacy department delivered the services to 194 beneficiaries. Ms Melisha, Ms Jyothi , Ms Adithya, Ms Apoorva S, students of Nursing participated in the activities of the camp by assisting in PAP smear, registration process and also dispensing free medicines to the beneficiaries. Ms Priya S Pereira, faculty from Father Muller College of Nursing was the coordinator for the camp.

The Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru, Karnataka, in collaboration with Father Muller College of Nursing (FMCON), Mangalore, hosted the inaugural RGUHS Mangalore Zone Table Tennis Tournament 2024 (Men & Women) on 27th August 2024. The event, spanning two days, was inaugurated at 10:30 am at the Father Muller Indoor Stadium and featured both men's and women's table tennis competitions.

The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI), who encouraged the participants to nurture their passion for sports, emphasizing the importance of fitness and self-discovery in one's journey to excellence. He was joined by other dignitaries, including Rev. Fr Ajith B Menezes, Administrator of Father Muller Medical College, Mr. Dharmendra, Zonal Coordinator and Physical Education Director at SDM College of Naturopathy and Yogic Science, Ujire, Dr. Agnes EJ, Vice Principal of FMCON, Mr. Santhosh, Sports Coordinator at FMCON, and Ms. Shushma K R, Physical Education Instructor at FMCON.

The event commenced with a prayer song led by the students of FMCON, followed by a warm welcome from Ms. Neha Jinu, a 3rd-year BSc Nursing student. The dignitaries then lit the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the beginning of the tournament.

The tournament was formally inaugurated with the priests playing the first stroke of the match, setting the tone for the exciting competitions to follow. The event was well-coordinated, with Muriel Hansil Mascarenhas, a student of FMCON, serving as the emcee. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Lester Lobo, a 3rd-year BSc Nursing student, who expressed gratitude to all those who made the event possible.

This tournament marks a significant step in promoting sports and fitness among students of health sciences in the region.
