On
1st November 2024, a successful one-day General Health Check-up camp
was conducted at St. Mary's College, Bela, Kasargod. This initiative, organized by Father
Muller Medical College Hospital in collaboration with St. Mary's College,
Bela, Kasargod, aimed to promote health
awareness and provide essential medical services to the college Students and
staffs. The health camp offered a variety of medical services to the
beneficiaries, including General Health Check-ups conducted by the Department
of General Medicine, Department of ENT along with Speech and Hearing also
Electrocardiogram (ECG) Testing, Glucose Random Blood Sugar (GRBS) Checking and
Dispensing of Free Medicines to
beneficiaries. These services were aimed at facilitating early detection of
health issues and promoting overall well-being among the college students and
staffs. The camp was coordinated by Ms. Caroline Smitha, Assistant Lecturer
from the Department of Community Health Nursing at Father Muller College of
Nursing (FMCON). She played a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of
the camp. Additionally, four first-year GNM Nursing students from Father Muller
School of Nursing (FMSON) and one 2nd PBBSc nursing student of
Father Muller College of Nursing actively participated in the camp. They
assisted with the registration process and helped dispense free medicines to
beneficiaries, gaining valuable practical experience in community health
service. The health camp attracted a total of 225 beneficiaries, who
benefited from the various services provided.
