On
06 February 2024, a successful one-day General Health Check-up camp was
conducted at St. Joseph Vaz Church Hall in Mudipu. This initiative, organized
by Father Muller Medical College Hospital, in collaboration with St. Joseph Vaz
Church and the Catholic Sabha Mangalore Mudipu Unit, aimed to promote health
awareness and provide essential medical services to the local community as part
of their Silver Jubilee Celebration. The health camp offered a variety of
medical services to the public, including General Health Check-ups conducted by
the Department of General Medicine Electrocardiogram (ECG) Testing, Glucose
Random Blood Sugar (GRBS) Checking and Dispensing of Free Medicines to
beneficiaries These services were aimed at facilitating early detection of
health issues and promoting overall well-being among the community members. The
camp was coordinated by Ms. Deepika N C, Assistant Professor from the
Department of Community Health Nursing at Father Muller College of Nursing
(FMCON). She played a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the camp.
Additionally, two third-year GNM Nursing students from Father Muller School of
Nursing (FMSON) actively participated in the camp. They assisted with the
registration process and helped dispense free medicines to beneficiaries,
gaining valuable practical experience in community health service. The health
camp attracted a total of 160 beneficiaries, who benefited from the
various services provided.
